WASHINGTON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) and The King Center today announced The King Center Imaging Project, an unprecedented effort to digitize over one million documents from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other key figures from the Civil Rights movement.
"JPMorgan Chase operates in more than 60 countries around the world and we try to help every community in every way possible"
The King Center Imaging Project is a collaboration between JPMorgan Chase and The King Center to archive, preserve and share Dr. King's works. JPMorgan Chase, through its Technology for Social Good program, has committed its technology expertise to digitize more than one million pieces of history related to Dr. King. This unprecedented, innovative project will result in a global educational website based on a comprehensive collection of Dr. King's papers and other audio-visual materials. Along with Dr. King's documents, the Project also includes originals from other key figures and groups involved in the Civil Rights movement. The website will, for the first time, make historical materials such as Dr. King's speeches, sermons and correspondence, readily available to anyone with access to the internet.
The King Center Imaging Project will be showcased at booth #507 at the Partners in the Dream public expo at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The Expo begins on Thursday, August 25 at 3 p.m.
