NIRI Elects Douglas R. Wilburne New Board Chairman

VIENNA, Va.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--The [ National Investor Relations Institute ] (NIRI) today announced the election of [ Douglas R. Wilburne ] as the 2011 chairman of the NIRI Board of Directors. Wilburne is vice president, investor relations for Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT). He succeeds Brad Wilks, Chicago CEO and managing director of Sard Verbinnen & Co.

Doug Wilburne is a designated corporate officer of Textron with responsibilities including communicating Textron's strategy and financial performance to investment and business communities worldwide, including Wall Street analysts, institutional investors and business/financial media. He serves on the companya™s Executive Leadership Team and Enterprise Finance Council. Prior to joining Textron, Wilburne established an investor relations program at Rite Aid, and also headed investor relations for AMP Incorporated, until the company merged with Tyco International. Prior to joining AMP, he spent 20 years at Bell Atlantic Corporation, where he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, operations, regulatory, finance and treasury, ultimately serving as director of investor relations. Wilburne earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1976, where he was a member of Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical engineering honor society, and an M.B.A. in Finance degree from Drexel University where he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the business administration honor society. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the Providence Society of Financial Analysts, and is a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable.
