SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 15, 2010) - [ MuleSoft ], the Web Middleware Company, today announced that TALX, provider of Equifax (NYSE: [ EFX ]) Workforce Solutions, a leader in human resource, tax and payroll-related services, has chosen MuleSoft [ Tcat ] Server, the enterprise-class web application server based on [ Apache Tomcat ].

With over 9,000 clients, including 75% of the Fortune 500, [ TALX ] provides services focused in three employment-related areas: hiring, pay reporting and compliance. The company's web-based applications are core to its business, and application performance and up-time are critical drivers of client satisfaction. As TALX implemented Apache Tomcat as a part of its infrastructure, it was looking for a solution to help it deploy and manage its Tomcat applications, as well as identify and troubleshoot performance problems. On seeing a live demonstration of Tcat Server, the team was drawn to the product's powerful features and simple-to-use interface.

"We expect that Tcat Server will have a significant impact in helping us decrease the time to deploy our Tomcat applications and keep those applications running smoothly in production," comments Bryan Garcia, Senior Vice President, Technology, TALX.

The TALX team first encountered [ Apache Tomcat ] as it implemented RSA's Risk Based Authentication software, which requires Tomcat as its web application server. TALX wanted around-the-clock support for Tomcat, as well as capabilities to better manage its Tomcat applications. TALX selected Tcat Server for its ability to manage application deployments from one location and review logs from a central location, as well as its performance monitoring and diagnostics features.

"Since our introduction of Tcat Server to the market, we've seen a remarkable pick-up and positive response from Tomcat users," said Sateesh Narahari, director of product management at MuleSoft. "Tcat Server is becoming the de facto choice for users migrating away from expensive and heavyweight Java EE application servers to Tomcat and for Tomcat users looking for enterprise features and support."
