MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 2, 2009) - Big Red Diamond Corporation (TSX VENTURE:DIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jens E. Hansen, P. Eng., as a Technical Advisor.

Mr. Hansen is a Professional Engineer in Quebec and Ontario with over 30 years experience in the mining and exploration industry with a focus on building junior companies. Jens began his career at the Atomic Energy of Canada Laboratories in Chalk River followed by international geophysical surveying. He has been a consultant to the Canadian International Development Agency and was a founder of Trillion Resources Ltd. He is currently President of Beaufield Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BFD) and President of Melkior Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MKR).

We believe this appointment to be significant in light of our recent signed Letter of Intent pertaining to a 50% joint venture agreement with MKR regarding their Bristol property in the West Timmins gold camp. Mr. Jean-Francois Perrault, President and CEO of DIA states "... we are extremely pleased to have an experienced professional like Jens join our team. The Board of Directors of DIA has granted a total of 250,000 options to Mr. Hansen to purchase common shares in the Company. All options have an exercise price of $0.10, an exercise period of five years and a hold period of four months from the day of the grant.
