MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2009) - Big Red Diamond Corporation (TSX VENTURE:DIA) ("BRDC") is pleased to announce that a Heliborne High Resolution Aeromagnetic and Spectrometric Survey, prepared by Geo Data Solutions Inc. ("GDS"), for the Strategis project was conducted during the summer of 2008 revealed several thin (100 m or less) high intensity anomalies, striking 330 degrees N on distances re aching a few km. The Strategis property in the Otish mountains sector held by Big Red Diamond Corporation is located approximately 300 km northeast of Chibougameau, in the Chibougamau mining district. Located in the northwest corner of the NTS sheet 23D/04 "Lake Laparre" it covers a 7 199.85 ha area which encompasses 97 claims.
Traverses were 100-metres spaced with an azimuth of N02 degrees E. Excluding calibration and test flights, 4 d ays of flying were needed to cover the requested survey area. The first production flight began on July 29th and the last on August 2nd, 2008.
These aeromagnetic anomalies are possibly associated with late gabbro dykes and sills, deposited within faults, whereby mineralized fluids may have circulated. The uranium, thorium and potassium airborne radiometric survey, conducted in conjunction with the magnetic survey outlined a broad belt of anomalous values (uranium greater than 0.584 ppm, thorium greater than 2.200 ppm, potassium greater than 0.470 ppm). This anomalous trend measures approximately 3km in width and strikes north east for more than 8km. Located in the Archean rocks, it borders the northern edge of the presumed location of the unconformity with the Otish Group sedimentary rocks. Six main zones consisting of the most intense anomalies (uranium greater than 1.496 ppm, thorium greater than 4.810 ppm, potassium greater than 0.766 ppm) can be distinguished in this belt. The dimensions of the largest anomaly measures 1500m by 500m.
