TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 15, 2009) - Victory Nickel Inc. ("Victory Nickel" or the "Company")(TSX:NI), ([ www.victorynickel.ca ]) today announced the appointment of Ms. Alison Sutcliffe to the position of Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Sutcliffe replaces Mr. Robert Wardell who has retired. The Company wishes to thank Mr. Wardell for his invaluable assistance in the creation and management of Victory Nickel.

Ms. Sutcliffe was formerly Controller of Victory Nickel and has international experience in accounting, public sector disclosure and controls. Previously Ms. Sutcliffe served as Controller, Resources at Dundee Corporation. Prior to joining Dundee, Ms. Sutcliffe spent 12 years with Deloitte and Touche in Canada and the UK and seven years with CIBC in Canada and the United States, culminating with the role of Chief Financial Officer with CIBC National Bank.
