Tarrio, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, made this plea through his attorney, stating that Trump had previously promised to cover legal fees for those involved in the events of that day. Despite this promise, Tarrio has not received any financial support from Trump. His attorney emphasized the need for funds to appeal his conviction, highlighting the disparity between Trump's assurances and the lack of actual support.
