39 year old dental surgeon dies hours after participating in Goa marathon

A 39-year-old dental surgeon named Dr. Preeti succumbed to a cardiac arrest just hours after participating in the Goa River Marathon on December 10, 2023. Despite feeling unwell during the event, she completed the marathon but later experienced severe chest pain and collapsed at her hotel. Emergency medical services were unable to revive her, and she was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. This tragic incident has raised concerns about the health risks associated with marathon running, particularly in relation to sudden cardiac events.
