American Water CEO to Participate in Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference

VOORHEES, N.J.--([ ])--[ American Water ] (NYSE: AWK), the nationas largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, today announced its president and chief executive officer Jeff Sterba is serving as a panelist at the [ 85th Annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference ] (WEFTEC) in New Orleans, La. on September 29 a" October 3. Sterba is participating in a special Water Leaders session, aRethinking Water Services,a during which he and other industry leaders will share perspectives on the future of water management.

Additionally, Dr. Mark LeChevallier, Director of Innovation and Environmental Stewardship, will give two presentations in the areas of onsite wastewater reuse and the impact of wastewater disinfection on reuse applications.

In addition to presenting, LeChevallier will participate in a panel discussion, titled, "Water Entrepreneurship: Funding Through Strategic Partners" that will highlight American Wateras [ Innovation Development Process ]. This initiative is a proactive approach to leverage the companyas position and expertise to validate innovations using the companyas large and geographically diverse footprint, ultimately becoming an early-adopter of new technologies for industry use.
