Constellation, Chicago White Sox Stage Annual “Green” Game

CHICAGO--([ ])--Constellation and the Chicago White Sox today announced the teamas second annual aGreena game Tuesday, Aug. 21, against the New York Yankees, when electricity usage stadium-wide will be 100 percent offset by renewable energy certificates (RECs).

Constellation, energy provider to the Chicago White Sox and business and residential customers across Illinois, will donate RECs to offset electricity expected to be used at the well-attended evening matchup. The RECs represent the environmental benefits of electricity generated by wind, solar or other renewable power facilities.

To expand the focus of the teamas environmental stewardship beyond U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox Volunteers Corps and volunteers from Constellation will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 21 at McGuane Park in nearby Bridgeport to spread mulch at a playground and re-turf baseball fields.
