Superior Plus Announces the Appointment of Luc Desjardins as President and Chief Executive Officer
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2011) - Superior Plus Corp. (TSX:SPB) ("Superior") is pleased to announce the appointment of Luc Desjardins as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Desjardins will assume the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities from Grant Billing who will continue as non-executive Chairman. Mr. Desjardins is expected to commence his new role on November 14, 2011 and will be appointed a member of the Board of Directors at that time.
Mr. Desjardins's business experience covers a wide array of industries. Currently, Mr. Desjardins is a partner in Sterling Group, a private equity firm, located in Houston, Texas. During the last 3 years at Sterling Group, Mr. Desjardins has helped the group make acquisitions and implement significant operational improvements in many of their businesses. Prior to joining Sterling Group, Mr. Desjardins was Chief Operating Officer of Transcontinental Inc. from 2000 to 2004 and Chief Executive Officer from 2004 to 2008. Mr. Desjardins improved all of Transcontinental's business segments, demonstrating continuous performance advances and growth in results during his tenure.
