SymetraGeneral Counsel George Pagos Announces Retirement after 35 Years
BELLEVUE, Wash.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Symetra Financial Corporation (NYSE:SYA) today announced that George Pagos, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, plans to retire on Sept. 30, 2011 following more than 35 years of service.

Pagos joined the companya™s legal department in 1976. He was named associate general counsel in 1985 and was promoted to vice president in 1995. When Symetra Financial became an independent entity in 2004, Pagos was appointed general counsel and secretary, responsible for the companya™s legal and government affairs functions.
Throughout his career, Pagos has been a leading force behind Symetraa™s major corporate initiatives, including its transition from a life insurance subsidiary to a standalone company and its 2010 initial public offering.
