Prudential jumps 16 spots on the DiversityInc "Top 50 Companies for Diversity"
NEWARK, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) earned a spot on DiversityInc'saTop 50 Companies for Diversity" for the 11th consecutive year, moving from No. 32 to No. 16. "A mainstay on the DiversityInc Top 50 list, Prudential has vaulted from its middle-of-the-pack position to No. 16 as its deep-rooted external and internal commitment to inclusiveness accelerates," the magazine says. It also quotes Chairman and CEO John Strangfeld, who called diversity a "key business strategy."

To qualify for the list, participating companies must have more than 1,000 employees and answer a questionnaire on CEO commitment, human capital, internal and external communications and supplier diversity. More than 535 companies applied for the list, an increase of 19 percent from the previous year.
