Route1 Inc.: Route1 Awarded Government of Canada NMSO Contract
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 27, 2009) - [ Route1 Inc. ], (TSX VENTURE:ROI) a security and [ identity-based services company ], today announced that it has been awarded a National Master Standing Offer (NMSO) contract by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Under the NMSO contract number E60QE-08BI12/001/QE, Canadian Government departments and agencies have been pre-approved to purchase up to $20 million of Route1 products and services over a three-year period.
Route1 is pre-approved to supply the Government of Canada with Route1 [ MobiKEY ](R) devices, [ TruOFFICE ](TM) and other [ MobiNET ](R) subscription-based services. The [ TruOFFICE ] service and [ MobiKEY ], powered by [ MobiNET ] have been used by various federal departments to allow employees to perform their job functions outside of the office without any risk of data leakage.
Route1's [ identity-based solutions ] are used by a variety of stakeholders, including the highest executive level, in a number of Canadian Government departments and agencies, to maximize productivity and efficiency in the name of better serving Canadians. The NMSO awarded to Route1 is a key prerequisite and building block for Government of Canada, as it simplifies the procurement and competitive process for large contract awards.

Public Works Government Services Canada selected Route1's [ identity-based service delivery ] solutions for this NMSO based on qualification by the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) and Route1's compliance with FIPS 140-2, a standard used to validate cryptographic security. Defense Research Development Canada (DRDC) was a sponsor in the PWGSC run process to have the Route1 product line available through the NMSO.
ABOUT THE NATIONAL MASTER STANDING OFFER
The National Master Standing Offer is used to meet recurring needs by one or more departments within the Canadian government or for a range of goods or services for a specific purpose but the actual demand is not known at the outset and delivery is to be made when a requirement arises. The NMSO can be called up by the government to purchase Route1's products and services under the pre-arranged prices and terms and conditions. A separate contract will be awarded each time the NMSO is called up without the need to re-evaluate Route1's products and services.
