ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC, CANADA--(Marketwire - April 7, 2009) - Typhoon Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TYP) announces a second series of results from the drilling done on the Fayolle property owned 100% by Typhoon. The results focus on the FA-08-22 to FA-08-26 holes drilled on the Mc Donald's showing area, located approximately 450 meters (1,480 feet) east of the Fayolle Deposit, which contained 188,000 ounces of inferred gold resources, at the surface. (See attached map)

The FA-08-22 holes were drilled to verify the North-South structure in the central section of the showing. They intersected the structure and the Mc Donald gold-bearing zone near the surface between 28.5 meters and 64.5 meters. Two of the showing's mineralized zones were intersected with an average content of 1.18 g/t Au on 10.5 meters and 2.76 g/t Au on 12.5 meters.

The FA-08-23 holes were drilled north of the Mc Donald Showing to verify the North-South structure in its north extension. The structure mostly intersected massive komatiite and felsic dykes. Some fault zones were intersected corresponding to the anticipated structure. However, no significant values were obtained with these drillings.

The FA-08-24 and FA-08-25 drill-holes were established in the North area of the Mc Donald Showing to verify the extension of the fuschitized komatiite onto the Fayolle Deposit. As anticipated, the fuschitized and carbonatized horizons were intersected. In these altered horizons many silver-bearing values were obtained ranging from 1.0 g/t to more than 5.6 g/t.

The FA-08-26 drill-holes were completed to verify the probability of a second North-South to NNE-SSW structure at more than 100 meters west. These drillings confirm again the presence of typical "Fayolle type" komatiite with some altered fuschite and brown spar zones and many monzodiorite dykes. A few gold-bearing values were obtained in these drillings but it clearly shows the presence of gold because a value of more than 1.1 g/t gold on 1.0 meter was obtained at more than 250 meters below surface.

These results show the gold-bearing potential of the Fayolle property along an ESW-WNW structure of more than 1.2km between the Aiguebelle and Mc Donald Showing.

Several drilling analyses are currently in progress and will be announced as soon as available.
